In the first face-to-face convention since Budapest 2019, the 2022 Leaseurope Annual Convention will be held on 6-7 October 2022 in Cascais, Portugal. With the review of the European Consumer Credit Directive in its final phases, the convention will debate how the new legislation with affect the consumer credit industry, focusing on digitalisation, improved protection for consumers against over-indebtedness and facilitating a more integrated cross-border market.
A new digital environment – the metaverse – is coming to the fore and the convention will look at this new phenomenon and how it will affect the way people will do business in the future.
Encapsulating the main subjects of the convention, bestselling author Mike Berners Lee of “There is no Planet B” will kick-start the event emphasizing the need to invest for a sustainable future, while Accenture’s Cameron Krueger will explore a new era for the finance industry with the metaverse, and how this new digital environment will completely transform how lenders interact with their customers and conduct their business.
