Brit Schönenberger to interview John Saffrett deputy CEO of Ayvens at the AFC Leaders' Summit Europe in April.
Brit Schönenberger founder of Schönenberger Advisory Services and former country head, Switzerland for Leaseplan will interview John Saffrett, deputy CEO of Ayvens (the new name for the merged entity comprising ALD Automotive and Leaseplan) at the AFC Leaders’ Summit in Brussels on April 16th, 2024.
Topics to be included in this session will include:
- National regulatory initiatives and how to deal with them (e.g. bonus-malus in France, social leasing campaign in France, sudden end of subsidiaries in Germany, ban on the sale of new ICE vehicles by 2025 in Norway, tax scheme "polluter pays" in Norway, infrastructure grants in UK)
- Lessors, OEMs and clients - how to share the burden, e.g. volume and tactical agreements with OEMs (Hertz, Sixt, Ayvens) - pros and cons
- TCO implications of fleet electrification - increases and reductions, drivers, who absorbs and who benefits, including RV impacts, TCO parity BEVs vs ICE
This session will consider Leaseurope’s consultation with the EU on green corporate fleets. Leaseurope have noted: “Should the outcome of this consultation process result in the imposition of arbitrarily set mandatory fleet targets across the EU27, we anticipate that this will lead to many unintended consequences, not least the perverse incentive to retain ICE vehicles for longer. Any such piece of regulation may turn out to be counterproductive towards the European Union’s goals on reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions.”
The AFC Leaders’ Summit Europe is an invitation-only free to attend event for the most senior leaders in the auto and equipment finance industries. It takes place at the Steigenberger Icon Wiltcher's Hotel in Brussels.
